Discover Quebec

Watch out, or you may fall under the spell of Quebec City, the only fortified city north of Mexico! As you explore the winding side streets, on foot or in a horse-drawn carriage, the romance of the city will enrapture you. Curious about the past of this historical city? Stroll through the historic neighbourhoods of Petit Champlain, Place-Royale and the Old Port. Even though this Capital city is steeped in history, its year-round activities are truly up to date: world-class winter carnival and summer festival, theatre and art exhibitions… and the accommodations and dining are topnotch!

The area surrounding Quebec is simply enchanting. In a matter of minutes, you could find yourself deep in the countryside or in the heart of one of the large natural parks. Magnificent Montmorency Falls (83 m / 272 ft. high) alone are well worth the detour. Characterized by abrupt dips in the landscape, Jacques Cartier National Park is sure to leave you speechless. Venture through the marshes of Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area and observe some of the 300 species of birds, including tens of thousands of Greater Snow Geese in the Spring and Fall. This region is a sports lover's paradise both in summer and winter, with spectacular golf courses and majestic ski slopes such as Mont Sainte-Anne and Stoneham.

Classified as an international heritage site in 1985 by UNESCO, the city of Québec, capital of the Province of Québec, is the only remaining entirely fortified city in North America. Founded in 1608 by Samuel de Champlain, Québec was the first permanent European settlement in New France. A natural citadel, the site dominates the St-Laurent River.  Renowned for its European flavour, the city offers a rich architecture.  During the tour you will see the Plains of Abraham, Notre-Dame Basilica, the National Assembly, the Citadelle and the famous Château Frontenac.  A walking tour of historical Place Royale is also included. You won’t resist the ambiance of Québec City! Lunch will be on your own in the Old Town.
