An island city like its southern neighbour Montreal, Laval is a dynamic region where the peacefulness of nature co-exists in perfect balance with the bustle of city life. Filled with abundant green spaces and agricultural areas, Laval offers sightseers countless magnificent river vistas. The Rivière-des-Mille-Îles Park alone is worth the trip! City-dwellers visit the park and its and wildlife refuge regularly to kayak and canoe among its luxuriant islets and peaceful marshes. In winter the park attracts many cross-country skiers and skaters.
Laval is a surprising city where urban excitement and huge green spaces harmoniously mix. With its mosaic of diversified attractions, Laval is an open air paradise and host to scientific, cultural, festive, epicurean and commercial areas. The story of “ Ile de Jésus “ goes through its patrimonial sites such as Sainte-Rose-de-Lima Church built in 1856 by Victor Bourgeau and classified historical monument in 1975. A stop is planned there as well at la Fromagerie du Vieux Saint-François, the first artisan cheese maker from Laval. Along the road, you will see farms, gardens and flower producers.
